The company has completed industrial and large-scale applications for lithium battery recycling from pre-treatment mechanical size reduction, hydrometallurgical recycling to material regeneration. We have also developed recycling processes for hydrogen fuel cells and solid-state batteries, a novel short separation process for laterite nickel ore, and established a complete life cycle assessment (LCA) system for EV batteries complying with international standards.

Dr. Lin is an internationally recognized thought leader and business visionary in the energy transition industry. In leading Botree Dr. Lin provides the vision and strategic direction of the company, developing and commercializing state of the art technology solutions for the renewable energy marketplace worldwide while building internal capability to meet the evolving needs of clients and the renewable energy industry.
Dr. Lin is Member of the National Technical Committee SAC/TC294 on Discarded or Disused Chemicals Disposal of Standardization Administration of China. Convenor of ISO/TC 333/AHG2. Steering Committee Member of GBA Battery Passport. Operation Agent of IEA HEV TCP Task 48 Battery Swapping, participant of IEA HEV Task 40 CRM4EV.
Working in novel separation and purification technologies for critical battery metals, revolutionary solution for battery recycling and materials regeneration. Finished 50+ research and commercial projects, granted prizes like national technology invention and national key practical technologies of environmental protection. Published 40 papers, been authorized 30+ patents, participated in the formulation of national standards, and been one of main writers of “Blue Book on the Recycling of Spent Power Lithium-Ion batteries“ and “Recycling of Power Lithium-Ion Batteries: Technology, Equipment, and Policies”.
As co-founder and COO of Botree, Dr. Xue Wang oversees all administrative, marketing, business, and client activities, as well as contributes the technical advances of the company.
Dr. Wang’s expertise is deeply rooted in metallurgy, chemical technology, and materials engineering. She is a member of the esteemed European urban mining research group in Belgium and has served as vice president of Beijing Ruidow Information and for the China business development subsidiary of Noble Group, a Fortune 500 company. With extensive participation with multiple internationally renowned enterprises and customers in the rare metal industrial chain, and international organizations and institutions, she is a valued member of the global renewable energy scientific community.
Dr. Gangfeng Liu is an expert in waste power battery recycling and recycling, catalyst precious metal recovery, spodumene lithium extraction, solid waste treatment and resource recycling research, including metallurgical tailings treatment and comprehensive utilization, recovery of precious metals and rare earths, XRT and XRF sorting, and basic research on electrical crushing. He participated in research of new and efficient dry coal preparation technology with the Ministry of Science and Technology focused on large-scale direct liquefaction of coal. He has led large R&D teams focused on recycling precious metals, waste batteries, lithium slag, and preparation of high-quality lithium materials, with multi-million-dollar technology development funds. He has published multiple papers in international conferences and journals and won multiple provincial and municipal awards.
Dr. Chunwei Liu is responsible for new process development, especially metallurgical extraction and new technology development of material preparation, including extraction and separation of critical metals from spent lithium batteries, nickel and cobalt ore, nickel and cobalt intermediates and lithium battery materials preparation.
He used to be associate researcher at the Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is committed to the development and industrialization of technical equipment for the recycling of secondary resources of non-ferrous metals and has developed comprehensive utilization technologies such as waste lithium-ion batteries, aviation aluminum alloys, exhaust gas catalysts and photovoltaic panels. Dr. Liu’s achievements have won first prize of scientific and technological progress by China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, and he has been selected to lead the national talent project of postdoctoral international exchange and introduction plan and won China Nonferrous Metals Young Engineer award. He has published more than 20 academic papers in mainstream journals and applied for more than 20 international and domestic patents.
In his position, Bill assists in corporate strategy formulation, market planning and global business deployment.
Before join Botree, Bill has served as General Manager of China operations in Li-Cycle and Great China Commercial Manager in Eastman. Throughout his career Bill has developed and driven business growth strategies in the highly competitive China market, including expanding brand awareness, market impact, account development and strategic relationships. Bill’s professional background has included operational, manufacturing, supply chain, commercial, and financial leadership at previous companies. He is deeply experienced in international trading in Southeast Asia.
In overseeing project implementation for Botree's global customers, Shaquan Lin aligns customer requirements with Botree's engineering and technical capabilities to ensure successful project delivery.
Shiquan began his career as a process engineer at a leading EPC company in Chengdu and served top chemical and energy customers worldwide, engaged in project early study, design, engineering, construction, commissioning and operation, and EPC project management. He was later appointed region general manager in charge of sales and marketing and project development in Southeast Asia. He has deep international experience in the chemical, oil & gas, energy/new energy, and battery material industries relative to process engineering, project management, investment and financing, and business development.
Mr. Wei is responsible for business development in the Greater China region, delivering customized, high-performance solutions. He has nearly 20 years of experience in new energy lithium battery marketing management. He is familiar with the development of lithium batteries and relatedrecycling policies, and has 0-1 experience in the establishment andoperation management of battery recycling enterprises.
